What do Auxiliary Police Officers do?

Patrol the streets of our local communities in marked police cars,
reporting incidents of concern to the Police Department and being a visual
deterrent to crime.

Respond to traffic accidents, fires, and medical calls, to offer
additional assistance to the police officers responding to the call.

Respond to all types of emergency situations under the direction of
the Nassau County Police Department.

Control traffic and provide security at local parades, community
events and road races.
Were does our funding come from?

Donations from businesses and individuals in our community.

We receive no funding from taxes, nor is there funding from Nassau
County, the town of Oyster Bay or the State of New York. The Police
Department does supply retired police cars for Auxiliary Police use.
